Day 3: April 22, 2010

So today I'm going to write about a little sofa. That's right. A sofa. My little wonder of the day is a stinking couch. I'd like to apologize right now to everyone that is hoping to have a day dedicated to them-don't worry it's coming, I promise! Today was the last Thursday of classes of this semester, meaning my last class with Ben this semester.

Ben has been a great friend of mine for what feels like forever. It all started last semester when we had 3 classes together. We always sat next to each other and laughed and made funny faces when irritating people in our class talked the whole time. That's how it all got started. He's one of those people that I can talk to about anything. We frequently enjoyed walking from Ratcliffe to Ferg together last semester, catching up about life and all of the crazy things that being an RA entails. However, this semester, we only have one class together, but after our government class we both had to walk upstairs to our next class. Mine was International Law, his was Psychology. Being that these were Tues-Thurs classes, there was always ample time between classes, and a simple walk up one flight of stairs left plenty of time to hang out.

That brings me to our sofa. This awkwardly-placed, hideously colored with reds and browns, wonderful couch. Every single time we walked up the stairs together we'd go sit on this couch. Granted, there was never more than about 8 or 9 minutes spent on this couch, but this is where we complain, laugh, and just talk. Usually the sitting down would begin with Ben hitting his head on the handle of the door that our sofa was blocking, which always started the afternoon off with a good laugh. People like Andrew and Alan stop by frequently, always making for a great conversation, and there is always people-watching happening on our sofa. (Special thanks to Andrew for taking this picture today!) This sofa will greatly be missed next year, now that I won't have classes in this building anymore. So, to those of you who are waiting to be my wonder of the day, your day is coming. My sofa is my wonder today.
