Day 57: June 15, 2010

Stop. Flashback.

So, we've reached that point where everyone is starting to get stressed and frustrated and nothing is making sense. We spend all waking hours working on preparing for the arrival of First-Years, and all sleeping hours dreaming of the millions of ways it could all go wrong. My life has become my job, but I wouldn't have it any other way, because...

Only in this line of work can we stop a stressful evening of skits and songs rehearsals to play a fun game! Not only that, but the Trail family has perfected this game over the years. The CLs were hesitant to the "Haha" game at first: they had to lay on the ground, awkwardly touch each other, and just be weird together. Lucky for us though, they are just weird enough to make it entertaining. It was a great end to a long day.

But, the greatest part, and the wonder of it all, was the flashbacks I had during this game to Easters past with my family. Patrick and Melissa would bring the girls over, and Jan and John would bring their family, and it was great to all just be together. But, then there was always a game of "Haha." We would usually wind up taking up the entire family room, but the champions would weed out the weak laughers in no time! However, when playing with children, it is important to keep in mind that we always had to let Kendall keep playing, no matter how much she laughs.

So, here's to enjoying moments with our CLs, and flashbacks with my family.

I am so blessed.
